Today Iren and I rode along the Thames to Staines and back
We parked up on the Laleham to Chertsey road then cycled firstly on the road, then the tracks and path to Staines
We returned grabbing an ice cream on the way 🙂
Did the mad ride again this morning to test the hybrid,
Rode to Lindfield, then on to Walstead
Rode across to Ardingly and then to Borde Hill
Rode through Cuckfield and Ansty to reach Burgess Hill
Returned home on Isaacs Lane.
Took at least 5 minutes off the MTBs time and was a lot faster, however I need to revise my judgment of someinclines, can no longer get over them in top – the hybrid’s top gear is much taller, hence the higher speeds recorded.
Just a quick ride to Cuckfield and back, via the Police station as I needed to get the bike security marked.
Rode to Bolnore Village whilst waiting for the station to open.
Then rode to Cuckfield and returned via Hanlye Lane and the Balcombe Road, had to twiddle my thumbs waiting for the traffic lights near the bridge – naffing Gad Board got the road up again !!
Got home to see that I reached the heady heights of 34 mph on Hanlye Lane, hmmmmmm the bike’s gonna fly on a steep hill 🙂
Went for a short ride today to christen my new hybrid bike.
This was my first chance to try out the new bike’s gears – I am used to twisting the grips to change, this one uses levers controlled bythe thumb and forefinger.
Soon adapted to the new gear change but found the ride hard work as the wind was strong today 🙂
Rode into Lindfield via hickman’s Lane and back
Yippee – Iren has got back on her bike 🙂
Today we parked up at Shoreham Lagoon and rode along to Worthing Pier and back.
Whilst it was great to get riding together again, it’s a pain in the bum to find her bike had the saddle come loose and the rear hub died on mine 🙁
Still at last we have cycled through to Worthing, something we hven’t managed to now 🙂
Yes, have done another biggie 🙂
Parked at West Grinstead, and had an expensive pee (went into the cafe next door but had to be a customer to use their facilities so brought a Mars Bar)
Set off to Christ’s Hospital on the Down’s Linkthen returned to West Grinstead.
Rode back through the station and carried on down to the airport at Shoreham, noting the dusty conditions at the farm on the way.
Rode round the airport and on to Lancing, at this I will stress that I was aiming to go to Worthing Pier but the bum was having a disgreement with the saddle and was NOT happy.
Rode back surprising myself on how easy it was to ride past the farm (I always remember that hill on the loose being a struggle, not this time)
4 hours and just over 41 miles later got back to the car, the bum being slightly happier now 🙂
