28/04/2013 – the weee run on the folding bike

Yep, went out for a 3rd ride, this time to take the folding bike out – I must be crackers !

Rode up Perrymount and turned onto the A272, legs already acheing, having to hang bum off the back of the saddle as it was set up for Iren – not a good sign !

Rode through to the centre of Cuckfield and turned right to head north to Ardingly Road

Turned right onto Ardingly Road and carried on through to Hanlye Lane

Whizzed down the lane hitting the heady speed of 26 mph 🙂

Then whizzed down the Balcombe Road

Turned right into Mill Green Road

Ascended Perrymount Road to home – the bum glad to see the back of that saddle !

28/04/2013 – Cuckfield, Lindfield, Walstead, East Maskalls, Lindfield and home

Sunday, April 28th, 2013

Rode down Perrymount then up to the A272, the aim being to repeat yesterday’s ride, however the legs were not best pleased at that prospect so I changed the route to be ridden.

Went through to Cuckfield and turned right to head for Ardingly Road and then Hanlye Lane

Went down the Lane and then down Balcombe Road

Carried on through to Lindfield

Went to the turnaround point then haded back into the village before turning left to head back out of the viallage

Went through Walstead and turned towards East Maskalls

Went past the farm and the golf course before turning onto Plummerden Lane

Carried on to the dumped pickup, then turned back, there was no way I was going to do the Ardingly run on the Racing Bike.

Rode back to Lindfield, went through the village and turned onto Sydney Road

Returned home up Perrymount.

28/04/2013 – Lindfield, Walstead, Ardingly, Borde Hill, Cuckfield and home

Went out for a sunday morning ride with Pete

Rode out to Lindfield taking Denmans Lane

Rode through to walstead and then onto East Maskills Lane

Rode round to Ardingly then cut across to Borde Hill

Rode through to Cuckfield and went to the bypass

Rode back on the A272 and the Broadway

27/04/2013 – The fun run route with Pete (this time with the racing bike)

Saturday, April 27th, 2013

Went out to revisit the fun run route with the racing bike, wanted to see if it (& I) could manage the hills.

Rode down Perrymount then up to the A272 by the Sergison without problem 🙂

Shot down to the Isaacs Lane roundabout where the bike hit the dizzy heights of 30 mph 🙂

Rode down Issacs Lane to the Burgess Hill tip roundabout, again without proglems

Rode up to Ansty where I had to push the bike, couldn’t make it up the hill – found out the bike had not gone down to 1st, it was in 2nd – grrrrrrrrrrrrrr 🙁

Rode from Ansty through Cuckfield to Hanlye Lane

Went down the Lane and Balcombe Road to Mill Green Road

Rode up Perrymount to the shops then returned home.

I feel I can do the whole ride on the racer, just need to get the damn thing in 1st for the hill !

26/03/2013 – A ride around the Brooklands / Byfleet area

Went out for a short ride this lunchtime

rode down the B374 and turned right onto the A245

Rode round Byfleet and rejoined the A245

Went back to go up the B374

Did the Locke King Road loop before returning to work

25/04/2013 – Cuckfield, Ansty, Burgess Hill, Lindfield and home

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

Rode up the Balcombe Road then up Hanlye Lane

Rode through Cuckfield and on through Ansty to Burgess Hill

Returned to the Heath on Isaacs Lane

Rode across town and down Oathall Road

Went through Lindfield to Hickmans Lane

Returned home via Mill Green Road

24/04/2013 – a lunchtime ride in the Weybridge area

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Went out for a lunchtime ride,

Rode up past the station and down to the old river bridge

Went to ride to Addlestone but the road was blocked

So went to Chertsey instead,

Then returned to town

Rode back up past the station to the just before the A245 junction when I returned to work.

It was a lovely warm ride in the sun 🙂

Did the now customary lunchtime ride to Cuckfield up Balcombe Road and Hanlye Lane

Rode across through Ansty to Burgess Hill

Returned to the Heath on Isaacs Lane

Rode down Oathall Road and headed for Lindfield

Returned home via Hickmans Lane and Mill Green Road

21/04/2013 – Newhaven and Seaford ride along the coast

Went down to Newhaven with Iren and the racing bike

Parked in the usual carpark and rode to the retail park by the river mouth

Rode then back and headed into Seaford

Carried on the the cafe by the Martello Tower museum.

Grabbed a coffee then rode back to the car

21/04/2013 – the Haywards Heath Bike ride with Pete

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Did the Haywards Heath bike ride with Pete this morning, we agreed to ride separately to see what time we could get 🙂

Rode up to the Broadway and joined the mass of cyclists waiting to go

Eventually our group (the 10 milers was released in batches, we were in the second batch)

Rode down Perrymount road, under the railway line and then up to the Sergison picking of riders in front of us.

Turned right then headed for Isaacs Lane and the blast down to Burgess Hill Tip roundabout by which time no one was visible in front of me 🙂

Turned right and headed up through Ansty and into Cuckfield, one guy drifted by me, another went past like I was standing still 🙁

turned to Hanlye Lane and whizzed down the hill, then whizzed down Balcombe Road

Turned right onto Mill Green Road then rode back up Perrymount to the Broadway and the finish

We rode this hard and it showed, I was dripping and unprepared when a microphone was thrust under my nose !

Pete came in about 5 minutes after me.

About 20 minutes later had a shock when a guy who did the longer 22 mile ride finished in 1 hour 10 minutes !!!

I came 2nd on the Green run with a time of 0:45:50 some 29 seconds behind the winner of the run, Pete came in another 3 minutes later.
