Went out for a ride with Paul from work, leaving from his home.
We rode across to the tow path on the Basingstoke Canal
Now we went to St Johns which is the limit of my riding on the towpath
We crossed sides on the canal and carried on riding passing Brookwood and Pirbright
Now we passed Deepcut and Frimley Green to reach Mytchett
Then we passed Aldershot, Farnborough and Fleet, most of which we appeared to be chasing a Heron along the canalside
We carried on to Dogmersfield where we had to stop, the tow path was closed due to a landslip
Looking at the weather (the forecast was dodgy for the day) we decided to turn back
On the way back we stopped at Mytchett Canal centre for an ice cream and comfort break
Then we rode back Paul’s to finish off a great ride.
Despite riding over 42 miles the legs don’t ache although the bum is feeling it slightly.
This is my longest ride beating my Downs Link ride of a few years back.
