Went out for a ride with Pete.

We rode up to the A272 then headed for Burgess Hill

When we reached the town we took the bypass round to the London Road to head for Hassocks

We rode through the village and on towards Clayton

Then we turned right onto Underhill Lane and headed for Hurstpierpoint

We went through the village and then turned north

We rode across to Ansty and headed for Cuckfield

We picked up the bypass and headed home via the Broadway.

Went our for a morning ride with Pete

We rode up past the hospital and turned for Wakehurst then turned right for Walstead

We then turned for Plummerden Lane and continued on to Ardingly

We raced down College Road then cut across to Borde Hill

Now we rode the Balcombe Road through to Lindfield via Hickmans Lane

We rode out of the village and rode up the 2 hill lane to Stonecross Lane

Now we picked up Plummerden Lane and rode back to Walstead, and on to Lindfield

We passed the pond and common before returning home via Sydney Road

Went out for an evening ride with Pete,

We rode up to the A272 and headed for Cuckfield

At the village we headed for the Ardingly Road then on to Hanlye Lane

Whizzed down the lane and then down the Balcombe Road

We carried on to Lindfield via Hickmans Lane

then we headed out of town in a North Easterly direction

Then we rode up Park Lane to pick up Plummerden Lane (at this point I won’t state that it’s a short sharp climb, but my legs want to hit Pete for suggesting it !)

We rode down Plummerden Lane and then back to Lindfield via Walstead.

We then rode past the pond and common before starting to climb Oathall Road

We then turned into Heath Road before riding down Perrymount to home.

Went out for an evening ride with Pete.

Rode across town and picked up the Ashenground trail

Went across to Isaacs Lane where we had to pass an ambulance treating a cyclist – eek !

Rode through to Cuckfield and went up to Ardingly Road

Whizzed down Hanlye Lane, standing on the pedals admiring the countryside 🙂

Went down the Balcombe Road and then headed for Lindfield

Had a big grin attacking Gander Hill in 6th gear

went round to the village on Hickmans Lane and then hit the back streets to the common

Rode past the Pond and common and then rode up Oathall Road

Returned home by riding across town and down the Broadway.

This was one of those rare days when Pete was joining me for a ride.

We rode across town then turned into Ashenground

We rode the track past Bolnore to Isaacs Lane

From here we went down to the roundabout by the tip in Burgess Hill

We then headed back to Ansty, and turned left to rejoin the A272

We turned right and hit Broxmead Lane, there some short sharp ascents on this

Finally we reached Slough green and headed for Cuckfield

We then did the blast down Hanlye Lane and the Balcombe Road

Finally we came up Mill Green Road and Perrymount.

Went out for a sunday morning ride with Pete

Rode out to Lindfield taking Denmans Lane

Rode through to walstead and then onto East Maskills Lane

Rode round to Ardingly then cut across to Borde Hill

Rode through to Cuckfield and went to the bypass

Rode back on the A272 and the Broadway

Did the Haywards Heath bike ride with Pete this morning, we agreed to ride separately to see what time we could get 🙂

Rode up to the Broadway and joined the mass of cyclists waiting to go

Eventually our group (the 10 milers was released in batches, we were in the second batch)

Rode down Perrymount road, under the railway line and then up to the Sergison picking of riders in front of us.

Turned right then headed for Isaacs Lane and the blast down to Burgess Hill Tip roundabout by which time no one was visible in front of me 🙂

Turned right and headed up through Ansty and into Cuckfield, one guy drifted by me, another went past like I was standing still 🙁

turned to Hanlye Lane and whizzed down the hill, then whizzed down Balcombe Road

Turned right onto Mill Green Road then rode back up Perrymount to the Broadway and the finish

We rode this hard and it showed, I was dripping and unprepared when a microphone was thrust under my nose !

Pete came in about 5 minutes after me.

About 20 minutes later had a shock when a guy who did the longer 22 mile ride finished in 1 hour 10 minutes !!!

I came 2nd on the Green run with a time of 0:45:50 some 29 seconds behind the winner of the run, Pete came in another 3 minutes later.

Teamed up with Pete for a morning ride

Decided on the Goddards Green ride as Pete hasn’t done all of it.

Rode up Balcombe Road and Hanlye Lane

Headed for Staplefield and then turned down Broxmead & Pickwell Lanes to Goddards Green

Rode to the Burgess Hill bypass and returned to town via Isaacs Lane

Rode down the Broadway to home

This may be the first day of British Summer Time but the climate isn’t listening (icy roads)

Went out for a ride with Pete to re-acquaint him with the delights of the walstead run

We rode into Lindfield cutting through the back street to bypass the gas board works in Sunte Avenue,

Rode round Hickmans Lane to the High Street and then headed for Walstead, during which Pete had a brown trousers moment as a car pulled out on him

Carried on round to Ardingly through the puddles (now theres a surprise), and got overtaken by a hearse (is someone trying to tell us something here ?)

Whizzed down College Road, almost getting a free haircut thanks to low flying Army helicopters, then climbed up the hill before heading for the Borde Hill estate

Returned to Town and headed back for Lindfield

This time we went past the gas board and headed up Denmans Lane

Went up the High Street to the turnround point

Came back down the High Street and headed for the Heath

Rode up Sydney Road to return home
