Rode up the Balcombe road and then up Hanlye Lane

Rode across Cuckfield after getting through the chaos with a road closure, and the odd reversing lorry !

Rode through Ansty to Burgess Hill

Returned to town on Isaacs Lane

Rode home down through the Broadway – I lost time in Cuckfield so didn’t have time for a Lindfield divert.

This was a chilly ride, I was grateful for gloves, 2 shirts and a warm coat 🙂

Went out to do a few more miles on the bike, soggy mistake time !

Rode up to the A272, and across to Cuckfield at which point the drizzle decided to put in an appearance 🙁

Rode out of Cuckfield heading for Balcome and Stapletield

Turned into Ardingly road and Hanlye Lane

Went weee down the road then did the same down Balcombe Road

due to the weather turning wetter headed for home, still almost another 5mile in the bag 🙂

Yippee !! this brings up the 2000 miles ridden !!

Rode out to Walstead  and through to Ardingly, by heck it’s windy out there and there’s afecking great puddle on Plummerden Lane !

Rode to Borde hill and across to Cuckfield

Returned to town and headed off to cross the  town but the main road is blocked so a detour via Ashenground was called for.

Rode down Oathall then up Gander Hill before returning home.

Yep, only did  a short ride this morning, it’s a right miserable drizzly morning 🙁

Although there is one tree on the Borde Hill estate that lightens the day 🙂

Carried on riding to Cuckfield and rode into the village before heading back to town

Returned home via Oathall Road and Gander Hill feeling soggier than the inside of duck’s bladder 🙁

Did the now customary lunchtime ride to Cuckfield via Balcombe Road and Hanlye Lane

Carried on to Burgess Hill via Ansty

Returned on Isaacs Lane

Rode across town and down Oathall Road

Returned home via Gander Hill

Did the run up to the A272, and across to Cuckfield

Up London Lane and then headed for Staplefield

Before turning right in Hanlye Lane and whizzing down to the Balcombe Road

Then rode down the Balcombe road to return home up Perrymount Road

All feels ok with the bike but the saddle needed lifting.

Did the route of the 2013 Haywards Heath bike ride Green run otherwise known as “The Sergison GREEN ROUTE – The family fun route of just 10.5 miles”

All I can say is that there will be some tired legs out there !! From the roundabout at Burgess Hill tip most the way to Hanlye Lane in Cuckfield  is an ascent that keeps the legs toiling and the chest tight.

Saying this, it does have the fun of the descent of Hanlye Lane and Balcombe Road 🙂

The route takes you from the Broadway down to the Railway Station and back up to the Sergison by the Police Station.

From here you head towards Burgess Hill on Isaacs Lane, when you reach theroundabout by the tip at Burgess Hill you turn right to head for Ansty and Cuckfield.

This is the “slog” section as you ride up to Ansty, gaining a brief respite as you head to the Cuckfield bypass before hauling your way through the village to Hanlye Lane.

Here you can whizz downhill to Balcombe Road and again whizz down to Mill Green Road.

At this point I deviated off and road into Lindfield via Hickmans Lane to the turnaround point

I then returned to the Heath climbing Oathall Road (yes I have no marbles)

I rode across town and then returned via the Broadway

Did the usual mid week ride (with a twist)

Rode up Balcombe Roadand Hanlye Lane

Rode through Cuckfield and Ansty to Burgess Hill

Rode back to Haywards  Heath on Isaacs Lane

Rode across town and down Oathall Road

Returned home via Gander Hill
