Went to Arlington Reservoir and had a wander round (just under 2 miles), then went up to the top of High and Over near Seaford.
I finished off the day looking at the bluebells at Ardingly Reservoir.

After the failure of the walk on the 22nd I set out on a similarly warm day to get to the trig point at Black Cap and to return.
I reasoned that I had more chance of making it by cutting out the 2 mile drop and subsequent ascent.
armed with a bottle of energy drink (0.5 litres) I set off and quickly passed by Ditchling Beacon and carried on to the trig point withoutany problems.
After a brief rest to take pictures I returned and noted that I was only feeling the effects of the walk just before reaching the car, which feels like I have laid the ghost of the 22nd to rest.

I set off on this sunny day with my trusty walking poles and a bottle of drinking water with the intention of walking to the ‘Chalk Pit’ at Offham, the closest I got was the top of the chalk working behind the pub, where you could look down to the back of the buildings.
The last 2 miles were downhill, which is great until you realise that you then have to go back up the those 2 miles. It’s early in my walking season and unfortunately I was paid the price exacted by those two miles back uphill.
The further I came back the more my energy levels dropped, and by the time I made Ditchling Beacon I had run out of steam and couldn’t face the 2 miles back to the windmills at Clayton (even after buying an extra bottle of water).
I had to holler to my parents for a lift back to my car.
It’s worth noting that 2 days later I walked to Black Cap (the point before the last two miles) and back to Clayton fine.
Total distance covered 11.4 miles
Parked up at the carpark by the old priory at Wilmington and headed up the Long Man with the intention of progressing further than before.
Walked up the now familiar steep ascent to the top of the Long Man then set across to Friston Forest, where I then started on the hill down to Litlington
Came out of a farm and walked backround to the carpark on the road, an enjoyable walk in the sun.
Total distance covered 5.25 miles
Welcome to my little blog where I will list my traipsing trips
