went for my usual ride this lunchtime only for it to begin raining so had to turn back just before Hanlye Lane – yep muppet features didn’t have any wet weather gear.

21/06/2012 – A ride on up Balcombe Road and back
Thursday, June 21st, 201220/06/2012 – A walk along the river to Carcraft, across town to the bridge and back in Chertsey
Wednesday, June 20th, 201217/06/2012 – Haywards Heath to Cuckfield and Back, this time on the old bike
Sunday, June 17th, 2012Did the same ride as this morning, this time on the old bike to get a comparison between them.
Much prefered the lower gearing although both left me cream crackered !
The riders are still streaming up Oathall on the London to Brighton ride, the numbers at this late stage suprised me.
The route, just to remind you, was up Balcombe Road, up Hanlye Lane,
Down into Cuckfield and returning to Haywards Heath,
Down Oathall road, then up Gander Hill before returning home.
17/06/2012 – Haywards Heath to Cuckfield and Back on the new bike
Sunday, June 17th, 2012Took the new bike up the Balcombe Road, then Hanlye Lane (bow did I miss the gears of the old bike, the legs now hate me)
Rode into Cuckfield and returned to town on the shorter run, I did not have the legs to tackle the bypass
Road across town, then down Oathall, this was against the flow of cyclists doing the London to Brighton run, even sparking some kid to yell “he’s going the wrong way)
Finally tackled Gander Hill, couldn’t do Lindfield as the police had closed the road for the cyclists to ride
16/06/2012 – Haywards Heath to Cuckfield, back, then to Lindfield and Back on the bike
Saturday, June 16th, 2012Yep, I did old faithful again,
There’s a blustery wind out there, it made it a tough ride as it seemed no matter what direction you rode, you were going into the wind 🙁
It was the usual ride, Balcombe Road, Hanlye Lane, through Cuckfield to the bypass, back through town and down Oathall Road.
then onto the back of Lindfield, before returning via Gander Hill
Still it’s done and another 10.6 miles bites the dust 🙂
13/06/2012 – Rode from West Grinstead to Christ’s Hospital School, to Shoreham and back
Wednesday, June 13th, 2012Yes, I have done a biggie – well it is for me.
Rode from West Grinstead to Christ’s Hospital School,
Turned back and then rode all the way to Shoreham Airport, including through a muddy field with cows ambling about!
Rode through the airport, on to town and then started the return leg
The hill by the farm just north of Bramber seemed much easier, which is just as well as I had to sliver through the damn field with the cows in again – I can confirm that you can wheelspin a bicycle in mud and stay on 🙂
Finally reached the car with the Sat Nav Batteries giving up the ghost.
Sorry about all the pics, it’s a long trek !
