16/01/2014 A wander round the Brooklands Area and the old track

Thursday, January 16th, 2014

Went out with Paul and Morgan for a lunchtime stroll

We walked down to the P&G gate and through to the car parks

Then we went to the Brooklands / MB World car parks

We then headed left and managed to go under the roadway for the first time since the floods

We now walked round to the playground and then up to the head of the old track

We followed the old track to the housing estate and went back into the Heights

Now we went back to the P&G gate and returned to the office.

15/01/2014 A wander down past the sewage works in Weybridge

Wednesday, January 15th, 2014

Went out for a lunchtime wander with Claire, Barry, Morgan and Paul

We walked down Locke King Road and crossed the railway

Then we passed the sewage works as we went down to the river

Again we could see that the river had fallen and we were able to walk up to MB world

We went through to the gate to the Brooklands Museum where we could see the guys taking down the sodden marqees.

We also saw that the blue car had been removed from the car park (hope the carpets weren’t too damp)

Now we went up to the P&G gate via the carparks

We then returned to the office up Brooklands Road

13/01/2014 – A wander towards Tescos (subtitled who ordered monsoon ?)

Monday, January 13th, 2014

Went out for a lunchtime wander with Claire, Barry, Morgan, Paul and Brian who needed to head for Tescos

We walked down to the P&G Gate and through

Then we walked through the car parks to the main road and headed to the Concorde roundabout

Then, quel surprise, it started raining ! ๐Ÿ™

We pointed Brian in the right direction for Tescos (you can see it beyond the trees) and turned back

For some strange reason we then walked as quick as possible back to the gate and then up to the office.

Although this walk was curtailed we still managed 1 3/4 miles ๐Ÿ™‚

The river had fallen a good 2 foot from the lofty heights of 2 days ago

We now walked round to the old track and through to the housing estate

Now we walked through the Heights to P&G

Finally we walked through the gate and back to the office.

09/01/2014 A wander along Locke King Road to the river Wey

Thursday, January 9th, 2014

Went out for a quick walk with Barry and Morgan,

Time was tight so we just wandered down to the Wey along Locke King Road

We were able to cross the river but could go no further.

After taking pictures of the unusually fast running river (it normally meanders along at this point) we returned to the office

08/01/2014 A wander to take a look at the Wey at Brooklands

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

Went out lunchtime to check on the river

Morgan, Barry and myself walked down to the P&G gate

Went through the gate and down through the car parks

We walked past the museum entrance and onto the bridge over the Wey

The bridge is supported by steel joistsย  and is usually several feet at least above the river,

on monday the river touched them, now 2 inches of the metal is under water.

The path we normally walk is well and truly covered now, and the blue car is still stranded in the car park

We then returned to the office

We walked down to the P&G gate

After we went through the gate we walked down to the car park

The ironwork just visible is actually a gate that we normally walk through

We then turned back and returned to the office via the P&G gate.

Wivelsfield, Chailey Common, Scaynes Hill, Walstead, Lindfield, Gander Hill and home

Sunday, January 5th, 2014

Went out for an explore as it was dry this morning (this is becoming a rare event)

Rode up to the A272 and across town,

Turned right and headed for Wivelsfield, then rode through Wivelsfield Green to Chailey Common

Here I was treated to seeing a deer run across the road ๐Ÿ™‚

Headed for Scaynes Hill where I suffered the ‘delights’ of THAT hill into the village (wanted – new legs, these are knackered)

Turned for Walstead and rode through to Lindfield

Rode past the pond and common before riding over Gander Hill

Returned home via Mill Green Road
