Iren and I (along with Margaret with Roger) took a coach from the hotel to Rothenberg and it’s Christmas market

Once dropped off at the coach park we walked into the old town through the wall

We headed for a cafe and had a coffee and cake

Then we went to a couple of markets before finding a bar for a goulash and a drink

After this we went round the shops (obviously raiding the Gluhwein on the way)

We then grabbed another coffee and cake before returning to the coach, the last to return but not late 🙂

Yep, we went out for another Christmas market, this time with another couple on the holiday (Margaret and Roger)

We walked from the railway station (we had taken a train from our hotel in Nuremberg) to grab a coffee

Today was bitterly cold, and we felt it)

We left the bar we had coffee in and walked to the first market

Once we had looked round that and grabbed a Gluhwein (hmmm this is a new habit)

We then headed for yet another market and Gluhwein 🙂

Finally we went to the big market at Thurn and Taxi by the castle

This was a big market where Gluhwein was taken (well we had to keep warm didn’t we)

We also ate some hot dogs and I had to brave and eat some knacker Semmel (Sausage in a bun with HorseRadish, Mustard and Pickle)

We could tell it was cold I was shivering – that’s rarer than a honest, careing politician

We then headed for the station and a hot coffee. As we sat down to drink our coffee it started snowing 🙂

Finally when the rest of the group arrived we headed for the platform and our train

Iren and I walked back out the the Christmas markets

We crossed the road from the hotel and headed back for the markets

This was early Saturday evening – and we were amazed how busy it was

We partook of some Gluhwein yet again and walked round the shops to get me a hat !

One furry bobble hat later we then looked at the stalls briefly (it was too busy for us)

WE munched on a giant sized german hot dog (1/2 metre long) for dinner!

After this we headed back to the hotel

Iren and I went on a walking tour of the old city of Nuremberg

We crossed the road from the hotel and then along inside the city wall

We then walked past the pillars representing the Articles of Human Rights

We walked to the river and headed for the Christmas Markets

To keep warm we grabbed a Gluhwein each 🙂

We walked round the markets then  walked straight back up the road to the hotel
