30/07/2011 – Downs Link at Shoreham + pottering around in Burgess Hill area on the bike !

Saturday, July 30th, 2011

Yep, it’s another double header, to begin with I went down to Shoreham and headed up the A283 and parked in a layby near Upper Beeding.

I then headed down to Shoreham on the Downs Link, a winding, level trail that goes down the side of the river Adur, I crossed the river at the bridge by the airport, went round and cycled through to the A259, I then retraced my steps, but carried on just before Bramber then returned to the car.

On my travels I was surprised by yet another Heron sculpture, this time by the side of the river.

This run was a delightful level run where you can easily underestimate how far you have travelled, I was quite surprised to have covered a tadge under 10 miles.

Following on from this I went over to my parent’s place and used the cycle track near theirs whilst I waited for their return. Again I was amazed how far I had covered – the best part of 4 miles.

Today I almost doubled how far I have cycled since I started this log, the old legs (and bum) are improving 🙂
