07/12/2013 Wivelsfield, Burgess Hill, Ansty, Cuckfield, Lindfield, Walsteade, Lindfield and home

Went out for a longer ride this morning including a visit to my parents.

Rode up and across town passing a minibus load of Santas before heading  for Wivelsfield Green

Carried on to Ditchling Common then turned into Folders Lane

Turned into Keymer Road then headed for my parent’s place.

Returned to Keymer Road and went across Burgess Hill

Headed through Ansty to Cuckfield and picked up Hanlye Lane

Rode down the lane then down the Balcombe Road to Lindfield

Rode out of town over the two hills before picking up Stonecross Lane then Plummerden Lane

Rode along Plummerden to Walstead then returned to Lindfield

Went past the common and the pond then went over Gander Hill

Returned home via Mill Green Road

06/12/2013 – To the Station, down to Oatlands before riding through Weybridge to the office

Went out for a lunchtime ride in new territory for me.

Rode down Locke King Road then up to the station

Then went down the B373 before picking up the A3050 which goes through the Oatlands area

Rode most of the way to the B376 junction before turning back ( was concious of time)

Rode through town and back up to the station

Returned to the office via Locke King Road

05/12/2014 A short, windswept ride in the Brooklands Area

Went out into the gusty winds this lunchtime for a short ride.

Rode down Locke King Road then down the track by the sewage works riding on a carpet of leaves

Went across the river then headed past the 4×4 track at MB world

Rode to the section of the old race track on the remnants of the runway

Went round the track to the playground then went onto the main road

Rode up to the A245 then back to the Brooklands Road junction

Returned to the office up Brooklands Road

15/09/2011 – An amble round Ardingly Reservoir (or rather what’s left of it !)

Went for a gentle stroll round Ardingly Resevoir to see how it has changed over the year.

I have to say I was shocked by the low water level, where I join the path it is normally lake like, you do not expect to see just a small stream !

It was an amble through woodland with, at times, a slightly muddly track but it’s been a lot worse.

It was also a shock to see that the Bird hide has gone, just the remnants of the stumps are left.

The top part of the path seemed to be teeming with Pheasants who were always running away down the track

I wandered round to the causeway then completed the walk to the head of the dam and continued on the footpath to take a picture of the Railway viaduct at Balcombe (you get an entirely different aspect from fields here looking across the trees behind the bridge.

I returned having seen a Heron, yet more fleeing Pheasants and a Robin, overall an enjoyable little stroll.

04/12/2013 A wander past the Weybridge Station and back

Wednesday, December 4th, 2013

Went out for a lunchtime wander with Morgan and Barry

We walked down Locke King Road then up to the station

We crossed Brooklands Road and picked up a footpath running along the railway in the woods

When we reached a housing estate we turned back taking another path that lead to the B373

We then walked back up to the station

Finally we walked back down past the station to Locke King Road and returned to the office.

02/12/2013 A ride from Weybridge to Addlestone, New Haw, Byfleet and back to the office

Monday, December 2nd, 2013

Went out for a lunchtime ride

Rode down Locke King Road then up to the station

Rode down and then crossed the river before riding to the Bourne Estate

Turned left to go through Addlestone then turned left

Headed to New Haw and rode on to Byfleet

Turned back up the Brooklands Road and returned to the office.

01/12/2013 – Walstead, Plummerden Lane, Ardingly, Borde Hill and home

Sunday, December 1st, 2013

Went out for an afternoon ride on the hybrid,

Rode up to the A272 and on past the hospital

Turned for Wakehurst then at Walstead turned for Plummerden Lane

Rode on to Ardingly and shot down College Road

Then headed for Borde Hill before turning onto the Balcombe Road

Rode down the road the returned home via Mill Green Road
