29/01/2012 – two trig points and the Chattri

Sunday, January 29th, 2012

Went today for a longer walk, drove to the mills at Clayton and strode out for Wolstonbury Hill,

The climb from Pycombe was as muddy as I expected and I slithered up through the morass created by the horses reaching the summit as the mist lifted šŸ™‚

On the way back down it was good to see that the Redearth installation on the hill was still there.

From Wolstonbury I walked on to the Beacon then came back beforeĀ  descending to the Chattri.

The Chattri track was, as expected, muddy in places at the bottom of the hill but easier to traverse than that hill climb for wolstonbury.

I’ve done the Chattri several times now, the climb back up the Beacon / Clayton trackĀ  is still as sapping as it ever was.

A good walk, and one that will no doubt be done again.

I tracked this by means of both the Sat Nav and the tracker on my phone, I wouls love to know how there is a 0.8 of a mile difference.

To play fair I have recorded this with the lesser value which came from the GPS unit.
